Local artists address the themes of James Thurber’s “The Last Flower” with their own works
The Last Flower is a short story written and illustrated by James Thurber. Published in 1939 near the onset of World War II, the story addresses the ongoing cycle of war, destruction, hope and rebirth. For the Art Unbound III exhibit at the Carnegie Gallery in the Main Library, curator Stephanie Rond challenged Columbus artists to create new work that directly responds to the story’s themes.
