The first Franklin County poor house was commissioned in 1832 in Grandview Heights.

The first poor house in Franklin County was commissioned in 1832. It was the first building in what is now Grandview Heights, long before iThe first poor house in Franklin County wt was developed. At that time, there was not a good way to cross the river to get there, so they eventually moved it… especially after a few seasons of high water. The building still exists today at 987 Grandview Avenue.
