We take a trip down memory lane to explore the fascinating history of the Colony Bazaar Shopping Mall, a unique retail destination that opened in December 1974 at the intersection of Kenny and Henderson roads in Columbus, Ohio. With its colorful entrance and unconventional open layout featuring minimal interior walls, the Colony Bazaar was home to about 23 vendors when it first launched.

And these show the very colorful entrance to the Colony Bazaar Shopping Mall, which was the shopping mall that opened in December 1974.
At Kenny and Henderson roads.
It was a bizarre concept, which meant that it had very few interior walls.
And the vendors that were set up in there, there were about 23 when it opened.
It was also the site of the first TGI Friday's in Columbus and also in Ohio.
The bazaar itself only lasted about five years.
It changed concepts in 1979.
But along with the Continent, which opened on the northeast side around the same time that Colony Bazaar opened, it kind of predicted a lot of the the market trends that seemed to have taken hold.
And you wonder if it had lasted a few more decades and might be popular today.
