Maggie Smith, of Bexley, is the author of three books of poetry. In 2016, in the aftermath of a tumultuous year in politics, her poem “Good Bones” went viral. It has since been translated into nearly a dozen languages, and Public Radio International called it “the official poem of 2016.” She shares some of her poetry at this year’s Poetry Out Loud state competition.
